Okay, Toyota 4Runner Fans! Are you an independent thinker or early adopter searching for the perfect roof rack for your 2010–2024 (5th Gen) 4Runner? If so, keep reading! OR click any button below to go straight to the roof rack page.
This is not just another roof rack—this is the next leap forward in roof rack design. The CORPS 1804 rack is lightweight, leak-proof, quiet, and remarkably easy to install. Designed for a low-stress, one-person installation, it combines clean modern styling with outstanding utility to stand out in a sea of lookalike racks.
No, we did not just rehash what is out on the market. We designed this new roof rack system fresh from the ground up with the main goal of creating a superior customer experience through the implementation of solid design principles!
Here is your experience with most other racks.
Since many of the popular racks out there are engineered for ease of manufacturing, user empathy goes out the window.
You first start out by assembling the rack on the ground, put it on a blanket so it does not get scratched up and just be careful not to trip over it while assembling all the parts. But then it takes two people to get it onto the roof. Hopefully they are tall enough to do that and no one drops it on the roof. (Ouch! That will leave a mark!) Once you have it mounted to the vehicle, tighten everything up making sure not to strip out the threads in the soft aluminum extrusions. Then you move on to the fairing. First, be sure to install some protectant film on the roof, so the fairing does not rub the paint off. Then install the fairing. You may need to adjust it a couple times to get it to not make noise at highway speeds.
Now, some racks have a low profile, and you may have to remove the antenna if you want to put a tent or cargo box on the rack. Speaking of installing tents, those racks with side rails that follow the curvature of the roof line so nicely make it an issue tightening down the tent fully. If the tent overhangs the side rails you cannot get your hand in from the sides to tighten the front mounting hardware easily. You can reach the back ones from the rear of the vehicle, and if you have a sunroof, you can go through there for the front ones, but if you do not have a sunroof you may need to get creative.
Another problem associated with close fitting side rails is if you cannot get your hand in to tighten the hardware, how do you wash the roof? Even with a sunroof, are you going to drag your wet sponge and hose into the vehicle and out the sunroof to clean under the tent? Did you see that one picture in our guide “21 Factors to Consider Before Buying a Rack” taken right after the roof top tent was removed? Yuk!
Narrow = No Bueno!
Many of these side rail style racks are on the narrow side since the side rails sit very close to the mount points in the roof and do not extend much beyond them. This causes a few issues for the user. Narrower racks mean you have to reach further over the top of the vehicle to get items off the roof. That is okay if your car is clean, but when traveling off road, that is seldom the situation, and you end up with dirt all over your clothing. Admittedly, your personal stature will also affect this too.
Another issue with narrow racks is when you have both a Roof Top Tent (RTT) and an awning on your vehicle. A large number of RTTs are in the 55-inch width range which overhangs most racks out there. When you add an awning to this set up you find you have to either run the awning under the tent , which may not be high enough for you to walk under fully upright, or you have to use awning brackets that extend several inches out from the rack to have the awning positioned next to the tent. This adds undue stress to the rack and the awning bracket. To complicate the issue more, the aluminum extrusions you bolt the bracket to normally sit below the top edge of the side rails, which means the brackets must have a hump in their design to get over the side rails. The design of the hump can limit how far the awning can go out and whether the bracket can be inverted to position the awning higher or lower.
Light up camp!
Now, a nice thing that many competitor racks do have is a place to mount lights on the sides that are excellent for when you are at camp. For some reason they all seem to design these for a light design from one brand, a nice one, but also an expensive one. The rest of the rack is wide open for you to put anything anywhere on it but you can only use this one light on the sides. Seems odd.
So, let’s now look at what is between the side rails of other racks..... the aluminum extrusions. These parts are great in that they are strong and light weight. They come in different configurations and can have different details that make them easier to use than racks that do not have them. Our issue with these is the open slot that goes from one side to the other and the mounting hardware. The slot running from one side to another allows great flexibility to position your gear left to right on the vehicle but if your hardware loosens just enough, your gear will start sliding around. Then having to use t-nuts inserted into a small opening in the extrusion’s slot and chasing them into position to tighten them down is a bit unusual compared to how most hardware works on the rest of your vehicle.
A quick PSA - *A very important side note here, nearly all Roof Top Tents have mounting rails that run from front to back with no way of locking in the location of the mounting hardware to the rail. This means if the clamping force of the hardware loosens on 2 or 3 of the mounting locations, and definitely if on all 4 mounting locations, the tent will likely come off the rack while driving. This is also dependent on how tight the other mounts are. This is no fault of rack designs, but the design of the tents mounting solution.)
Now while these are issues, there are tons of people out there that have these racks, figured out how to get them mounted to their vehicle, sorted out how to put gear on them, and went out and had a good time with no issues. The question is, would they do it again if there was a better way?
Now, here is the rack designed specifically with you mind!
Let’s get into how we designed “the CORPS 1804 Rack” to address these issues. Right off the bat, we designed the roof rack to be installed by a single person one part at a time. The towers that mount to the vehicle’s factory roof rack screw hole locations are very easy to manage and the cross frames can be handled one at a time. To make it easy we suggest wrapping a towel around the cross frames, so your roof does not get scratched and then gently sliding them upside-down across the roof. From there it is easy to turn them upright and set them on top of the towers to bolt together. When we say bolt, we mean beefy bolts. Nice M8 stainless steel bolts with nuts. If you strip out a steel nut, first off, you’re an animal, but more important you are replacing a $1.50 nut and not a $60 -80 aluminum extrusion.
Since this is more of a ¾ length rack you do not need to worry about wind noise, and we do not have a fairing so there is nothing to adjust or keep from scratching your roof. We continue to make our rack more user friendly by having a design with no side rails. This way you can get in under the roof top tent and bolt the tent down tight to the rack. Check out our tent hardware kit! The metal straps most tents come with that run under the cross bars are eliminated. This hardware kit converts roof top tent mounting to a true nut and bolt solution where each bolt operates independently for more secure mounting. You can even wash the roof of your vehicle, whether you have a sunroof or not!
Another nice feature we have is a wide rack at 55.375”. This means you will not have to lean over the car as much as other racks to get the gear placed on the edges and your clothing should not have as much contact with the dirty vehicle doing this. The wide rack also dramatically reduces how far the awning brackets stick out to get beyond the width of a tent. And since our rack design is flat on top our awning bracket for smaller awnings is a simple L-shaped bracket that can be used facing up or down and can even be mounted inboard of the outer edge so you can find the position that works best for you.
Other user-friendly design details are the universal light mounting holes that allow you to choose from a broad array of lights at various price points. We even include little slots where you can run zip ties though to manage the wires. Now one of the biggest differences in our rack is that we have a series of holes and slots for mounting tents, awnings, boxes, etc with nuts and bolts. These slots and holes help position gear and hold it in place securely with nuts and bolts, just like the rest of the hardware on your vehicle. And if the bolts loosen a little, your gear is not going to go far due to the short length of the slots.
Curated just for you by a seasoned design professional.
At this point you might be asking what gives this guy the right to claim this is the next leap in roof rack design? Great question! Good for you! Never just accept what someone writes.
Personally, I have over 20 years of experience working as an Industrial Designer for companies like GT Bicycles, DeWalt, Ford Motor Co., Husqvarna, Karcher NA , Magpul, FN America, REP Fitness and more. In that time, you pick up a few things as to what makes a product loved by customers. Having a cumbersome, non-intuitive, possibly even frustrating product that leaves customers feeling abandoned as how to even use the product is nowhere on that list.
A Roof Rack with Benefits
Now, some of the things that are on that list that people love are highlighted below, and not only simplify the experience but also deliver emotional reassurance and practical benefits to enhance your 4Runner journey!
-Effortless Assembly for Everyone:
Experience the ease and simplicity of assembling parts that are low-stress and user-friendly. With components designed for straightforward handling, just one person can assemble this system on the vehicle—enjoy the satisfaction of a stress-free setup!
Stress-Free Installation Without Roof Drilling:
Say goodbye to the anxiety of drilling holes in your 4Runner's roof. Our design utilizes the original factory mounting points exclusively—no adhesives that rely on the paint’s adhesion to the metal. Enjoy the peace of mind that comes with a secure, damage-free setup.
Convenient Access to Your Gear:
Reach your gear effortlessly with a roof rack featuring a wider design. This innovation places items further out from the middle of the vehicle, reducing the hassle of leaning against a dirty car. Feel the convenience of quick, clean, and comfortable access.
Durable and Cost-Effective Hardware:
Rest assured with our choice of stronger M8 Stainless Steel hardware....... superior to the M6 used by many competitors. And if a nut gets stripped, replace it easily for just $1-$2 from your local hardware store. Enjoy the confidence of robust materials and the practicality of quick fixes without breaking the bank.
Still more Benefits
Leak-Free Confidence:
No worries about leaks! Our dual-layer sealing approach—featuring both rubber gaskets and RTV Silicone(included)—mimics factory-level sealing. Feel secure knowing your 4Runner's interior is protected from water damage, keeping your vehicle in pristine condition.
Minimal Wind Noise at Speed:

Solidly Designed for Securing your Gear:
Feel at ease knowing your gear stays firmly in place. Our design uses holes and short slots to prevent sliding or loosening due to vibrations. Experience the confidence of secure, stable gear, no matter where your adventure takes you.
Backed by Real Research and Feedback
We built the CORPS 1804 to address the most common frustrations on forums like Reddit, where users frequently share issues with installation, wind noise, leaks, limited functionality, and gear access. While many Toyota 4Runner owners settle for these problems, our customers don’t.
If you are interested in this rack, now is the time to jump on this offer, which is limited to only 10 racks.
You can take the next leap forward in roof rack design, delivered to your door for free, and if you are not happy with it, get a 100% refund of your purchase price if it is returned in 45 days, even if it is used!
And when we say 100% refund , it is just that, 100%. No deducting what it costs us to ship it to you and no charging a “restocking” fee, unlike some other places. You get every penny you paid back.
Why do we make this ridiculous offer?
Because, while we have extensive experience designing great products, we are new to the off-road market and are working hard to get our name out there. Also, with over 20 years of designing products for companies like DeWalt, Ford, Karcher NA and FN America, we know that “New to the World” product innovations have an uphill battle being accepted by the market. So, to reward all those early adopters and independent thinkers who see the functional benefits and like the clean modern styling, we are making this ridiculous offer on just 10 racks.
We got something else for you too!
We are also adding another new product we are just finishing up to this offer, which you could be one of the first to have, as an extra bonus. Have you noticed how all the dirt collects on your tailgate within 5 minutes of off-roading? Also, does it not seem like you are opening the tailgate way more often overlanding than when you are just doing the work week thing, driving around town? Now, do you find yourself grabbing the edge of the hatch to close it even though they have that short handle loop thing, and the finger cup cut outs on the bottom of the hatch, the ones where you must hyper extend your hand under force to get the hatch to full close? So does grabbing the dirty tailgate by the edge with your fingers make you cringe knowing that you are literally grinding the dirt into the paint and wearing it prematurely. (Maybe now that we pointed that out it does. Sorry about that.) Well, if it does, we developed a vinyl decal to cover the lower edge of the hatch and a bit up the sides, so you do not mash the dirt into the vehicle’s paint. Your fingers are still going to get dirty though.
Just how ridiculous is this offer?
From the beginning we said we were offering a rack that is easy to use, lightweight, leak free, creates minimal wind noise and has a low stress, one person installation. We also point to some of the other features such as universal hole patterns for camp lights, strong M8 size stainless steel hardware and a wide rack design which means you do not have to lean over the truck as much to get your gear off the roof. Our normal pricing for this rack without shipping is already a great deal at $760. Now shipping is a bit of a great white shark bite in the wallet at $105. We do not have a great shipping volume, so we do not get discounted rates as much as other rack manufacturers. But we are going to cover shipping for you. We are also including in this offer the other new product we have, the vinyl hatch paint protector priced at $35, to help keep your 4Runner’s hatch in better condition. We are covering the $5 to ship that too. That works out to $905.
Rack - $760
Rack Shipping - $105
Hatch Vinyl Protector - $35
Protector Shipping - $5
Total Value - $905
We teased you enough, here is where you witness the insanity!
Again, we are just getting into this market and want to reward early adoptors and independent thinkers and this is how we are going to do that. We are going to take $181 right off the top of that total price. That is a discount of 20%. Your purchase price is only $724. (Honestly, my inner dialog is screaming NOOOOO! to this price. Trust me, once these 10 racks are gone, I am not offering this deal again.) To make the deal even sweeter, you can choose a roof top tent hardware kit and/or a set of awning brackets for 15% off, both with free shipping from the rack purchase page.
Pop quiz: How many sets of Roof Racks are we offering at $724?
Just to repeat, this offer is only good for 10 roof racks. That is it, not a single one more! Also, we have been notified by our contract manufacturing partner that pricing is going up (yeah, I know, what has not gone up in the last 4 years) and we will have to raise our normal price to account for these higher expenses. We also want you to know all of our gear is made in Colorado, USA. We design, test, manufacture and ship from Colorado.
“THE CORPS 1804 GUARENTEE”
If you are not happy with the rack, send it back within 45 days and we will refund 100% of your purchase price, even if it has been used. You can also keep the hatch protector as a gift. After the 45 days you still get another 3 years of warranty coverage that replaces parts that have failed. That is 50% longer than a Toyota warranty!
When we say 100% refund , it is just that, 100%. No deducting what it costs us to ship it to you and no charging a “restocking” fee, unlike some other places. You get every penny you paid back!
Compare our guarantee to our competitors. Do they offer........
1 100% Full Refund?
2. Full refund even if the rack has been used?
3. No restocking fee?
4. Full refund even if you got free shipping? (Is it really free shipping if they deduct it from your return, is not "price includes shipping" more accurate in those cases?)
If you are ready to be one of the firsts to have this new easy to use roof rack with even more benefits than we covered here and at this incredible value, then click below to see more of the roof rack’s design details and grab one of the limited 10 racks we are selling at this price.
P.S. – Seriously, this offer will only be offered on 10 racks and the offer will not be repeated. Once the 15 are all sold, prices will not be this low again and this special offer page will be taken down and the full price product page will return. We are pushing a good amount of marketing at this so while we are relatively unknown, we are making sure a ton of people see this offer.
P.S.S. – Last thing, and I am super serious here. Did you read Factor #6 in the “21 Factors to Consider Before Buying a Rack”? I really want to sell roof racks and have worked extremely hard on this whole effort, BUT if this rack is not satisfying factor #6 for you, please do not buy it. You will never be happy with ours until you try another. Hey, we are okay not being your starter roof rack, we will be here when the timing is right for you.
